1987 CRICKET WORLD CUP - IN NUMBERS - Cricket News David Boon was the second highest run scorer of the 1987 World Cup with 447 runs just behind Graham Gooch (471 runs).
The fourth edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup was held between October 8 and November 8 in 1987. This was the first World Cup that was held outside England, with India and Pakistan jointly hosting the event. It was also the first one in which the West Indies didn’t make it to the final, or even past the group stages.

A total of eight teams played across 21 venues in India and Pakistan, and Australia beat England by seven runs at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in the final.
